Surat (Gujarat) is the world's largest diamond cutting and polishing centre, processing over 90% of the world's rough diamonds. Jaipur (Rajasthan) is the global hub for coloured gemstone cutting — emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and semi-precious stones — while Khambhat (Cambay) has produced agate, carnelian, and chalcedony for over 4,000 years. GEM EXPORT COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATION

Gemstone and crystal exports from India are regulated by GJEPC and require specific documentation depending on the product category:

Kimberley Process (KP): All rough diamond exports from India must be accompanied by a Kimberley Process Certificate confirming conflict-free origin. IndianXporter only sources from KP-certified supply chains.

CITES: Certain organic gems and coral species fall under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species). We do not trade in CITES-listed coral without proper permits. All fossil amber and resin products are non-CITES compliant.

Gemological Certification: For precious stones (emeralds, rubies, sapphires, alexandrite), buyers typically require GIA (Gemological Institute of America), GRS, or IGI laboratory certificates. IndianXporter can arrange third-party gemological certification from GIA, IGI, or SSEF for any lot before export.

HS Codes & Customs: Unset gemstones attract different duty rates vs. set jewellery — proper HS classification is critical to avoid customs valuation disputes. We provide detailed gem ID documentation including origin, treatment disclosure, and species identification.

PRECIOUS GEMSTONES

Emeralds (Colombian origin stones cut in Jaipur), Blue and Yellow Sapphires (Ceylon and African rough, Jaipur cut), and Rubies. All with treatment disclosure (heat/no heat, filler) and gemological certification available from GIA/IGI.

HEALING & COLLECTOR CRYSTALS

Quartz varieties (Clear, Smoky, Rose, Rutilated), Black Tourmaline, Obsidian, Moonstone, Malachite, and Amazonite for the wellness, metaphysical, and collector markets. Available as raw specimens, spheres, towers, wands, and palm stones.

PEARLS & ORGANIC GEMS

Freshwater cultured pearls (round, baroque, coin grades) from Hyderabad-area cultivators. Moissanite — lab-grown diamond alternative — from certified Indian producers for the sustainable jewellery industry.
